It has been just over a week since we went 'Facebook official' with our plans to move to Romania for 9 month beginning in April 2015, and we have been overwhelmed by the response!
From everyone who 'liked', posted comments of support, shared our post through their Facebook, visited our website and signed up to our mailing list - we have felt extremely supported. Since we published our website last Tuesday it has had more than 500 views which is staggering. If nothing else, we are happy that it may have stirred up some conversations and awareness about Human Trafficking.
We especially appreciated the kind and thoughtful words our friends and family have written when they have 'shared' our news on Facebook, it is a surreal position to be in reading about what those close to you are saying to the world on your behalf. Melissa has been talking to the pastors at her church in Ballarat, we really appreciate the ways in which everyone is looking to support us. Along with the messages and emails of support and positivity, we have had a very uplifting week. Thank you, to you all!
Tim has been really moved by the support of his soccer club, Berwick Churches Soccer Club, it was a little unexpected from this group of guys who mostly talk soccer and Tim isn't the most extroverted of people to get involved with discussion about much else. They are such a great group of people though, and so many have simply shared the respect they have for the big decision that this is for us, Tim has come home from the last couple of training sessions so encouraged and supported by his mates at the club.
This week we received our tax returns back and were able to dump them straight into our 'Romania Fund'. It's nice to see our go fund me account say that we are 11% towards reaching our fundraising goal!
The next thing on the list is Romania language lessons! Tim will hopefully start them once he is back from school camp and Shell will get stuck into them after the craziness of Uni study is finally over!
If you haven't taken the chance yet to sign up for our mailing list, feel free to do so...it will be the best way for us to keep in contact and update you on developments as they happen
